So you went to freecon? What days?

I did indeed go to Freecon! I went Friday-Sunday (As I usually do every year.) On Friday I got there at about 1 an stayed until like 9, an then Saturday I went till the end of the con, so 10, an Sunday I sat in the gaming room till 5 when it was closing. Did you go to Freecon? I have some selfies up of what I was dressed as over the 3 days, Pikachu was Friday, Ash/Dragon Onesie was Saturday, an my unicorn with my bear was Sunday, perhaps you saw me? :O

Reflections on Freecon 9

When I found out FSU accepted me, one of the first things I did was to see if there was any conventions up at FSU. I saw there was something called Freecon, and I was super duper excited about it. Like, I knew it was probz gonna be small, and stuff but it didn't deter me. I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to make any friends up here, and I was always like, welp, if that happens than I can just go to Freecon and meet cool people there! But by the time Freecon came around, I had so many friends and memories I didn't need to worry about being all lonely up here and stuff. It's just kind of great when I look back at how worried I was, and how much I've gone through in two semesters. It doesn't seem that long ago that I was looking up all the youtube videos I could find on the con. I feel like I got the most out of the con, and I'm glad I went. (It was super cool to meet other homestucks at the photoshoot. Plus, I got a plush mario in an orange jumpsuit).

Even virtually, there will be a variety of jobs that you can do as a staff member. Be it event planning, stream host, discord moderation, emails, fundraising, promotional art, graphic design, web design, video editing, and the list goes on.  🤩

Freecon was incredible. Like amazing. I got to see some old friends and made some new ones. 

The best part was that a lot of them knew I was Zacharie and that made me so happy you all rock.

I had the opportunity to meet Xanthe Huynh who is the English voice actress for Ui Hirasawa! She is ridiculously adorable and will co-hosting a K-On! Panel with a friend and me later today. I am really excited!

FreeCon 9, an annual Japanese animation, science fiction, video game, comic book, enthusiast convention held inTallahassee, Florida. This year takes place in a highly advanced, yet dark cyberpunk world. Enter a hi-tech utopian Space Colony Avalon orbiting an apocalyptic Earth, where conspiracy, corruption, and conflict plague a futuristic society. With massive consumer technology being widespread, we must ask ourselves:  "What does it mean to be human?"

This year, FreeCon 9's venue will be held at the Florida State University. The convention location is much larger than previous years, as attendance is expected to skyrocket once again.
